Anodizing is an electrochemical process that forms a dense oxide film on the aluminum surface.
 
The core process includes:
Pretreatment:
Degreasing: Use an alkaline or acidic solution to remove oil and dirt from the aluminum surface, ensuring uniform adhesion of the oxide film.
Alkali Etching: Use a sodium hydroxide solution to etch the aluminum surface, removing machining marks and improving surface smoothness.
Acid Cleaning: Neutralize residual alkaline solution to prevent white spots on the oxide film.
 
Anodizing: The aluminum material serves as the anode and is placed in a sulfuric acid or chromic acid electrolyte. A direct current is applied to form an oxide film with a thickness of 5-30μm.
The oxide film has a porous honeycomb structure with a porosity of 30%-40%, providing a foundation for subsequent coloring.
 
Coloring:
Electrolytic Coloring: Use a metal salt solution (such as tin or nickel salts) to fill the pores of the oxide film, creating a stable color such as bronze or black. Dye Coloring: Organic dyes penetrate the pores to achieve vibrant colors like red and blue, but weather resistance is slightly inferior to electrolytic coloring.
 
Pore Sealing: Boiling water or steam is used to seal the pores of the oxide film, preventing contaminants from entering and improving corrosion resistance.
 
Data Support: Anodized aluminum can achieve a surface hardness of HV 400-600 (close to the hardness of sapphire), three times that of ordinary aluminum; its salt spray resistance is increased to 1,000-5,000 hours (compared to 200-500 hours for ordinary aluminum).
